Wild Card Wednesday - Redwork Inspired

Good morning all and welcome to another Wild Card Wednesday challenge...

So.. it's Kim here and my WCW Challenge to you is to make a card or Creation inspired by REDWORK...

A little Red Work history and information

Inspiring Red work images...

I wanted to show a few samples so that you don't need to get your needle and thread out straight away... The real inspiration is the red and white combo, the clean the simple effect this creates...

Here I have simply stamped the image in red ink and cut out,

Here I have stamped the image and heat set with red embossing powder;

Here I tried some faux stitching and pierced the stamped outline with my pokey tool;



Hope you can see the holes...

Now for this one I really went to town, and here's a wonderful site with patterns and sewing instructions (now I only wish I had some red thread before hand and didn't need to ink up some natural thread and have red fingers to boot, ROTFL!!!)

At close look you might see I went for a 'back stitch' where a 'stem stitch' is much more common but as I wasn't working with fabric I didn't want the card to rip. I also tried some french knots for her cute lips.

I hope you feel inspired to try something different and also to say that you can create redwork in many colour's it's about having some FUN....

Wild Card Wednesday....Purple and Green!!!

Hi.....

For as Long as i can Remember....one of my FAVORITE Combo's has been Purple and Green....They just Make me Happy!!!
So my WCW Challenge to you is to make a card or Creation using those two colors predominantly in your creation.....
You can use Black White or skin and hair tones...but all other colors must be shades of purples and greens.....
I first made a card using Gigi....Although i Love these colors...it was not my Happy shades of Purple and Green..But I LOVED her Lavender hair!

 

Then I decided to make the colors even more FUN by using the New Awesome Duo and Happier Shades of Purple and Green.......

First Up....Anya!

Then Ian...I had to make him a Pop up Pull out Slider......

Snowed In Saturday....

Hey guys!

It's me Jess...I'm back!!!  What a welcome, too....they say this is Nashville's roughest winter in a LONG time...figures it's the first one for me as I moved to get AWAY from the white stuff!  So, I am officially snowed in.  Stores are closed, basketball games are cancelled, school was cancelled yesterday....  SOOO, perfect timing to get my bearings after CHA and STAMP!

I'll be back later with one of mine.  i have been ITCHING to ink up my AMAZING DUO set but have been a little sick since my return home from CHA and feel like I need to get reacquainted with my stamps!   I stared in awe of my desk this morning and now that coffee is flowing, hopefully my mojo will be, too!

IMPORTANT NOTE:  I am missing a few emails for claiming prizes from last week's challenges.  Normally, the 72 hr rule would apply but because of CHA and the fact that I may have missed something, PLEASE email me by Monday if you are waiting on a prize from last week since Marie wasn't even there to mail them out.  THANKS!!!!
